UN SCS Banner

Dear Members and Friends,

The Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ARABCCI/ArabCham) has been granted by the United Nations (U.N.) the highest status that can be achieved for a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO): The ‘Special Consultative Status’ with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.

This status authorises ArabCham to attend U.N. sessions in New York, Geneva and Vienna, to participate in the works of the U.N., to present views, deliver testimonies, submit express statements, and make oral presentations before Governments.

Thus, ArabCham will have the opportunity to lodge member’s interests in economic diplomacy, express their views and influence the work of the U.N. Economic and Social Council at promoting:

  • Higher standards of living, full employment, conditions of economic & social progress and development;
  • Solutions of international economic, social, health, & related problems; international cultural & educational cooperation; and
  • Universal respect for, and observance of, human rights & fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion.

As such, the ArabCham Special Consultative Status will provide access to one of the most influential economic and social organs at the U.N.

We hereby extend our sincerest congratulations to you all for this latest ArabCham ground-breaking milestone achievement.

Truly yours,

The Secretariat
